About Us

Welcome to the Susan Jane School of Dancing

The school was started by our Teacher Sue Heesem in 1976. Over many years our school has grown and reached many areas  but has now found a home in Plympton St Maurice Church hall, where we first began.

Sue is a Qualified NATD Teacher and a member of the Association. Classes are held on Monday and Wednesday evening. More details of our classes can be found in the classes section.

We have a high standard of teaching that is presented in a fun and engaging way that keeps the children entertained and excited as they progress up through the various grades and styles we offer.

Sue, by day, works in a local pre school. Her role as a key worker enables her to teach in a way tailored to each child, helping them to have the most fun, enjoyment and knowledge out of their lessons.

Through out our time as a school we have raised thousands of pounds for different charities which include CLIC Sargent, Cancer Research, St Luke's Hospice and AGSD-UK.

Our School has strong links within our local community. We have opportunities to perform practiced show routines at Plympton St Maurice Civic Associations Mid Summer Festival, visiting local nursing homes and afternoon tea events.

We have a strong belief that anyone can dance and Sue has made sure her school will accept anyone and everyone. Above all else we make the experience is a fun and exciting one.

Please view our other pages for more information. All enquires welcome.

Thanks Sue.
